SUMMARY:All God's Children: Letter From Birmingham City Jail
DESCRIPTION:As part of our Double Event on February 15\, Mixed Magic Theatre Presents a Dramatic Reading of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter From Birmingham City Jail”\n\n\n\nMixed Magic Theatre invites the community to a powerful and timely dramatic reading of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter From Birmingham City Jail”\, presented in commemoration of Martin Luther King Day. \nThis moving performance will be delivered by Crow Pitts-Wiley and Jonathan Pitts-Wiley\, Artistic Director of Mixed Magic Theatre. Written in 1963\, Dr. King’s letter remains one of the most important and enduring documents of the Civil Rights Movement—a profound call for justice\, nonviolent resistance\, and moral courage in the face of injustice. Through this dynamic reading\, audiences will experience the urgency and relevance of Dr. King’s words brought to life with passion and authenticity. \n“Dr. King’s message continues to challenge and inspire us\,” says Jonathan Pitts-Wiley. “His words on justice and unity are as vital today as they were when they were written\, and we are honored to share them with our community once again.” \nAbout Mixed Magic Theatre\nFounded in 2000 by Ricardo and Bernadet Pitts-Wiley\, Mixed Magic Theatre is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to building more literate and arts-active communities through theater\, music\, and cultural programming.
